Who we are?
W
e have named our transport and tour company after Ulysses, who was the king of Itchaca, called Odysseus in Greek. He was the mastermind behind the wooden horse used at the siege of Troy. After the taking of Troy, Ulysses set out for Itchaca, which, however, he did not reach for twenty years. During this time he experienced the travel adventures described in The Odyssey by Homer.

lysses Tours and Safaris, based in Centurion (Gauteng Province), is an incoming tour operator, specializing in tailor-made itineraries of tours or safaris for up-market FITs, groups, incentives and pre- and post conference tours. The tour company was established in 1996 and owns a fleet of air-conditioned microbuses, sedan cars and coaches.
In short, Ulysses Tours offers general transport, an airport shuttle service as well as a variety of day and overnight tours.
Day Tours and Overnight Packages in South Africa

part from the private and scheduled day tours departing daily from Gauteng and Western Cape Provinces, several overnight packages are available. These include tours and safaris of the Kruger, Pilanesberg, Mapungubwe, Madikwe and Welgevonden National Parks, trout fishing areas, the Garden Route, Cape Town and Sun City.

Best established tour operator in South Africa
Ulysses Tours & Safaris has been a finalist in the City of Tshwane’s Best Tour Operator category for the six years 2005 – 2011 in which we won the award in the years 2005, 2009 and 2010! At the 2012 Awards Ceremony, Ulysses became the first operator to be incorporated in the City’s Hall of Excellence.
In 2014, the owner of the company has received a special certificate from SATSA (Southern Africa Tourism Service Association) in recognition of outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the tourism industry.
In 2015, Ulysses Tours & Safaris won the award for the best established tour operator in Gauteng Province at the Provincial Awards and the best established tour operator in South Africa at the National Awards at the third Lilizela Tourism Awards.
In 2016, Ulysses Tours again won the award as the Best Tour Operator in Gauteng Province, at the Lilizela Tourism Awards.
In 2017 & 2018 Ulysses Tours has been a finalist for the Best Tour Operator in Gauteng at the Lilizela Tourism Awards.
In 2019, Ulysses Tours won the award as the Best Tour Operator in Gauteng Province, at the Lilizela Tourism Awards, for the third time.
